I realise my Astra 1.0t should use Dexos 1, gen 2, 5w 30 oil, due to potential lspi issues. Yet on my oil filler cap it states 5w 20. Any ideas why?

i bought myself a nice 2015 vivaro b 1.6 diesel euro 5 ,2900 sportive with 82k ,1 owner from new with fsh 9 seater minibus to start taxi driving in november last year.
now everything was going great till 2 weeks ago when i was sat in the van with radio on,engine not running singing my little heart out to absolute 80's for about 30mins or so,thought no more of it till i went to start it about 2 hours later,flat...

Grinding noise from rear of car
Got wish wosh grinding noise when setting off, it got faster as I drove along, when I braked it made a right grind noise at rear.
Drove on and it disappeared and no grinding whilst braking.
But 2 minutes later it's started grinding again.
Ive had veccy 9 years and never changed brakes due to dealer replacing front for me when purchased.
Could it simply just be brake pads at rear or something else?
I don't want to get done over at the mechanics and come across unknowledgeable when...

Opcom Interface Communication Error
Hi
I have Opcom purchased from Koicarpkeeper about 18 months ago. Up to now it has worked fine but I now when trying to connect I get a box coming up saying "Interface Communication Error". This is happening both on my 2008 Astra H 1.7cdti and on a 2009 Tigra B 1.3cdti.
Any thoughts on the problem and how to fix it would be much appreciated.

Spare Wheel
Hi. My Corsa Exite has a bottle of glue in place of a spare. Very handy. Does anyone know anyone who has successfully used one of these? No, neither do I. I intend to put a steel spare in the boot and purchase a set of tools from a salvage yard. I have on the car 195 55 x 16 which gives a rolling circumference of 76.8 in. A steel spare of 185 65 x 15 gives exactly the same circ. But they are not easy to find. 185 70 x 14 are easier to find and have a rolling circ of 76.0 in. Will this be OK...

Over heating
Hi all, I have a zafira tourer 2.0ltr diesel 170, year 65. I was on motorway yesterday when my car display said engine over heated stop car, so pulled over let it cool down started again and only 1 mile same again. This happened 3 times, but on last stop waited about 10 mins and drove home temp gauge stayed about 100. My temp gauge was fluctuating up and down also it was blowing cold air inside. Am I thinking right that my head gasket has gone. It has only done 33k miles also had a water...

Enging knock stumps everyone??? 2010 2.0
I have a really awful clanking knock when cold, apart from that it runs fine. So far various experts have:-
Replaced all injectors.
replaced EGR twice. one old one new.
replaced MAF with oem twice.
Replaced glow plug relay.
Replaced entire engine with remanufactured unit, problem still there!
re-loaded ECU with genuine upto date software twice.
re-tested injectors.
There are no fault codes or lights up.
However if i disconnect the MAF the noise goes instantlty. It seems to be a...

Cheapest H7 & H11 bulb upgrades?
Anyone know of any cheapies going about? Prob wouldn't pay the extra to fit Osram 150's again. If there's a cheaper halogen upgrade alternative. Want to stick with halogens though.
I'm in no real rush, as it's light nights at the mo. Probably then worst thing about the Astra K, the dipped headlights, very poor.

Corsa 1.2 limited edition
Hi just brought my son his 1st car,a limited edition corsa in chilli orange,picked car up yesterday it was fine but fuel literally rock bottom.Filled it up got it home & could here a loud tapping kinda noise but not hydraulic tappet sound,flicked bonnet & noise is coming from what i think is fuel pressure regulator at back of engine cover will try post picture of what it is.Is this a common fault or would it have sucked Crap up out tank??thanks in advance to any replys

Hopefully last post can anyone tell me from cold start how long it takes there’s cars for the needle to hit half way from a cold start. Any Vauxhall’s but if any one has a Vauxhall Astra j would be good to hear from you. Thank you.

I'm still paying this car of for another 3 years so trying to figure out the best way to play this.

M32 gearbox...need advice please
Hi all..I have a 2009 astra sportive van with a m32 6 speed box that has disintegrated.
I have sourced another m32 box but it has come out of an insignia 2.0 diesel.
The starter is in the right place and it looks the same on the outside

Hi,
I’ve just done a pedal test there and have these two fault codes appearing ECN 001161 and 05976. Any idea what these could be, I’ve got no engine light shown on the dash and these are not being displayed in my OBD reader.
It’s a Astra H Z18XER.
I’ve recently had my car back from having the timing belt and oil cooler housing being replaced.
I’ve just done a pedal test there and have these two fault codes appearing ECN 001161 and 05976. Any idea what these could be, I’ve got no engine light shown on the dash and these are not being displayed in my OBD reader.
