Door and bumper black plastic rub strip removal???help????

Im in need of a bit of help,

I have a Astra h club 1.6 twinport that has the awful faded black plastic bumper and door rub strips instead of the colour matched ones on the newer models.

I'd ideally like to remove them and ive been told that these ones are just stuck on with no pins or clips? Is this true? If so would I be able to just heat them to make it easier for removal and stripping for painting?
Complete noob questions I know but any help would be appreciated.

Cheapest H7 & H11 bulb upgrades?

Anyone know of any cheapies going about? Prob wouldn't pay the extra to fit Osram 150's again. If there's a cheaper halogen upgrade alternative. Want to stick with halogens though.
I'm in no real rush, as it's light nights at the mo. Probably then worst thing about the Astra K, the dipped headlights, very poor.
If only I'd swapped them over from my last Astra....:ROFLMAO:

Z17DTH - Knock on startup

Hello All,

After some suggestions on the likely culprit, have a 06 astra 1.7cdti Z17DTH which knocks for a few seconds until the oil light goes off. In my opinion the oil light stays on for too long, once the light goes out the knock goes. Has anyone had this issue? Would this likely be the oil pump?

Hi all, I am chuffed to have finally joined the forum.

I hope you guys are all well.

I am after a bit of advice. I crashed my van recently and the insurance company have written it off due to age. Said not worth fixing (all from a photo) when all that needs doing is a new bumper, crash bar, and slam panel. I can buy these off evay for around £150 and replace myself.

The thing is, it has lost power some where as it is leggy going up hills. No misfiring or anything like that.

Dashcam hardwire zafira B advice please

Hi everyone
After a bit of help please, hopefully a fellow zafira B owner has hardwired a nextbase dashcam kit in.
Was just wondering what fuse to use, to make it just come on when ignition is on, the cig lighter is constantly live so not an option to use that really

Its a 2006 zafira B, any help much appreciated.

Loss of clutch/brake fluid

Hi again, I am doing nothing but posting on here for advice at the moment, been finding marks over my driveway, looks like brake/clutch fluid checked the brake reservoir and found it to be empty.. I have recently had my clutch and flywheel done not sure if this is linked, it is not the brakes and seems to be coming from the clutch area, what are the odds this is the slave cylinder? should this be changed on a clutch change or is this separate?

Morning all
Just had an mot done on my astra mk5 and it is a fail. Will try to repair it myself if I can but I'm not exactly sure what part needs attention. Well do have a general idea but the garage could not explain very well what part exactly needs replacing so I hope you guys can help.
Major defect:
Suspension arm pin or bush excessively worn offside rear (trailing arm/torsion beam) [5.3.4 (a)(i)]
The garage said they will have to investigate further and let me know about the price but...

2007 1.8vvt zafira engine power issues

I have a question relating to a zafira 1.8 vvt. It's a 2007 club model. The car its self drives well and can still feel quite fruitful when she plays ball. But lately now and again when warm. If I start the car it will run with massive reduced power. No eml light and restriction on the rev counter. Ie not in limp mode. I would say if the car felt like it had a certain size engine for its weight. I would say it feels like the 1.8 has been swapped for a 1.0. No miss firing, not fluctuating...

Spark plug snapped!

I don’t know much about cars however my car was using a lot of petrol so I thought a simple spark plug replacement myself would be a good start before taking it to a garage. 3 came out and were changed fine however the fourth was on extremely tight. After getting the correct ratchet, extension etc we thought we’d managed to get it out, however the spark plug has actually snapped and the ceramic bit has come out, however the metal shell/head with the thread on has remained in the engine.

ECN 14100 Emissions error - safe to drive ?

Hi I had the emissions warning light come on while driving and after doing a pedal test I got code 14100 which I think relates to incorrect heating reading on the lamda sensor ? I disconnected the battery and next day it was gone, it has come back a few days later and remains lit even after disconnecting battery for 24 hours.

I have to go to Luton airport in two days; so my first question is; is it safe to drive there and back and look into the lamda issue afterwards ?

Hi i have an Astra J 1.7 cdti 2011 model. At the end of a 300 mile trip whilst pulling off an major A road the car appeared to be in limp mode. No dashboard lights, it would judder (hope its the right word) as i accelerated, i could slowly accelerate but no power to over take, and going up hill i had to change down a gear as the car juddered when the revs dropped.
I did have someone put a code reader on the car when i was there and he said it came up with a generic code relating to the...

Shock Absorber confusion..

Hello.

I have a 2016 (66) Vivaro B.

The front offside shock is leaking so I am looking to change. After some research it suggests to me that shocks from the older model Vivaro will fit.

Are they indeed the same?

Hello everyone, new here and looking for advice or help. I will try my best to exsplain :)

So basically, my Astra 1.9 cdti 2008 150bhp engine z19dth when hot starts really rough, it idles fine but takes a bit to start, same as this video on youtube

i have changed DMF and clutch, glow plugs, starter motor and battery also crank sensor and thermostat. But now im running out of options, everyone is saying starter and battery but these are brand new.

Older diesel and petrol cars will now be charged an extra £12.50 to entre London city centre, the same will also apply in the future to Leeds City centre and Birmingham. So basically motorists will be punished for keeping their cars longer.
Would this eventually apply to lower emission cars we are running now within the future? As we move towards electric cars. So whether we like it or not, we are being pushed towards getting rid of our older cars, especially if you need to travel into city...

Hi we have just had some look at my sister's car about timing chain coming off, apparently this has happened before but we were never at the garage to see it, we paid to have it put back on and the car was fine until 2 weeks ago, when the same thing happened so we thought, (we didn't have anything else replaced just the old chain replaced) a bloke just came and said the chain is connected as the cam is turning he can see it when we try and start it through the oil filler cap, but the engine...
