astra z18xe problems
Hi all lookin for some help regardin two astras both purchased we same issue.
Mk4 sxi z18xe and mk5 Sri z18xe.
Cars both start first turn of key but hunt on tickover.flappin sound dwn the back boxes of them emissions out.
Had the mk4 nearly a tear just run like this until eventually cat callapsed blocked up and car packed in cleared cat and all back to normal huntin and poppin hissin dwn air filter like breathing.
Purchased mk5 other day as the exact same problem the owner as dne same we...

Nicky Hayden
2006 MOTOGP world champion Nicky Hayden as died aged 35 from his injuries sustained in Italy when a car hit is bike when out cycling . Nicky was a very genuine warm person who never had a bad word to say about anybody , this coupled with his glass half attitude made him great to be with , wether your were his teammate or a fellow competitor. Nicky had just 2 loves his family & motorbikes . It's so sad to lose such a good person who brought so much to the track & to those who knew him.

so its a 2007 Petrol 1.6 XEL engine CLUB.
I did EGR Channels cleaning job last year (August). and since then its been perfect.
Today, I have been noticing that same hesitation behavior upon accelerations and noticeable stutter from it.
I am reluctant to accept that EGR channels have got blocked again as I have only done about 5000 miles since the clean.
So, back to the investigation. Possible culprits please?

XEP 1.4 timing chain slack
Hello,
I moved this question to new thread since I got no answer in the last one with the completely different title.
I recorded two clips and I would like to know if this is too much timing chain slack, if this can cause my engine idle at 780RPM, otherwise performance is not affected. I can hear it sometimes when starting cold for about half a second. Is it urgent to replace?

Locks not working after replacin car key battery unless I put key in ignition then works fora while?
Hi all.
I have 2 car keys, the spare one has been left on the sideboard as obviously I only need one key, the other is a spare.
A few weeks ago I replaced the battery in the car key, however when I went to open the car with the car key it was not doing anything
I remember a few years ago on a previous car somebody suggested about putting key in ignition and pressing a button and that is what I did, then the locks worked again on the key but after a few days it goes back to doing nothing and...

Astra 1.7 cdti eco flex rough idle/cut out
Hi new to the forum, found you guys while searching for what could be wrong with my 1.7 cdti ecoflex astra 59 plate 75k miles.
Basicaly started a few days ago, starting to idle funny like it was hunting but very very slightly but now and again would drop about 500 rpm then jump back to normall again, but over the last 2 days it has dropped rpm and cut out will on idle. Starts back up straight away sometime cuts out again but after a rev it stays going and seems fine.

I got the code above recently and changed the temp sensor but the code still came back when the car drives a bit.
I connected opcom and it's still present.
Any ideas thanks.

My only problem now is where is it???? I dont even know where the crank shaft is lol

Ecu location
hi all sorry if this has already been covered but have tried searching to no avail.
I'm having p1120 "one circuit incorrect signal" fault on my partners tigra 1.4 twintop, the pedal has been changed and after some research on here believe it could be the ecu, wiring or throttle body, I wanted to know where engine ecu is so I check plug for corrosion etc, also if ecu needs to be changed can I just change Ecu or does clocks and fob need to be changed as well?

went out for a short drive and the van/engine just completely died , no warning what so ever .
just started juddering then died .
been towed back home because I had tried starting her again but no ignition .
I have got some codes from her .
p0105 manifold absoulute pressure
p0115 engine coolant temp sensor
p1243 injector circuit cylinder intermittent
p0400 egr flow
p0403 egr control...

Stereo & Pedals :)
Hey folks, just looking for some advice, i transferred my tuvva flip up stereo from my skoda fabia when i got my Zafira A but i only have the iso adapter from the skoda which means one of the back speakers don't work, could anyone point me to an adapter (cheaper the better) that will give me rear sound and steering wheel controls? Can link the stereo if it helps.
Also i'm looking to replace my pedal pads with something a bit nicer than stock, aluminium or something similar to pic below, but...

Boost control solenoid.
Looking for help on how to chase my pipes for b.c.s and check for any leaks and make sue all the pipes are in all the right places ect. When i start the car i can hear air somewhere from driver side of the car. Wondering if this could be another cause of my horrible p0234 issue.

P2279 code on engine management
Hi I have code P2279 come up on engine management, and smoke pouring out on acceleration. Also sluggish intermittently, suspect turbo isn't kicking in all the time.
Had a garage suggest replacing the egr valve and want to charge me over £300 to fix it. But I looked on here and the codes for egr appear to be very different...in the P4000's range.
So does anyone think this is good value. I know I can get an egr valve for about £70 on line.
Any advice appreciated.

Removing & blanking off swirl flaps
Has anyone tried removing the swirl flaps and blanking them off, there's a kit on ebay to do this.
