Recommended cam belt change intervals

Hoping someone could help. What is the recommended cam belt change intervals my car an 09 1.6 petrol is showing 82000 and to my knowledge is on the original belt should i be changing it or can i leave it a bit longer till ive paid for my holidays:D. Any suggestions appreciated............Cheers

Car stereo, mileage display and electric windows?

So we broke down the other night, turns out the spindle in the end of the key barrel snapped. Someone on behalf of RAC came out took it apart and used his screwdriver to turn the ignition switch to get it going.

Upon doing this my mileage display disappeared and the above mentioned, stopped working. I managed to grab him before he drove off and he came and fiddled with the switch, inserting the end of his screwdriver and turning backwards...

Oil filter compatibility query

Just services my meriva a. It’s a 1.6 petrol. Got the filter off and it’s a Fram PH10008.

I’d ordered service parts from euro car parts using the reg and there were 2 to choose from. I ordered both crossland filters 501721058 and the 501880018

They’re both taller than the Fram fitted but have same seal diameter and thread.

Does it matter?

Hi guys,
I have an early new shape Vivaro, December 2014 (64 reg) and at present im trying to do a bit of a camper conversion.
The charging of the leisure battery is causing me difficulty.
I have been told two different things on a facebook forum.
1. i need a split charger that works with a smart alternator,
2. A normal split charge relay will be the one i need as my van does not have, stop start tech, energy regen from the breaks, its not an adblue model.
It is how ever a 1.6 model.
Can...

I have a Zafira B, Life, 1.6 engine, 2005 coming up with error code P0171 and engine management light on. It raves a little while on idle and also stalls when shifting gears. I have so far changed spark plugs, coil, EGR valve, done a complete intake manifold clean, changed oxygen sensor 1 and don't seem to have any air leaks anywhere but I don't seem to have any improvements and the code still apears. Can anyone advise what could it be...

High Idle, No accelerator response..

I have a Corsa C with a Y17DT motor

I have lost all accelerator response and the vehicle idles at around 1400rpm unless I step on the brake, then it drops back to normal idle.

Already replaced the ECU, no difference. I have seen a post from one other guy who had the same issue and after replacing the EDU and TPS on his car nothing changed. My EDU was already replaced once by the previous owner.

Service light is on (car with the spanner) but not the EML. No error codes come up if I do the...

Yeah yeah, I know... Another one :)

So having established that the correct number of cars and bikes is n+1 where n is the number you have, I thought id get a track bike.

£749 of neglected ex race CB500. It'll need some reconditioning and tidying at some point but has all the pricey bits like race plastics, rear sets, exhaust etc and many spares.

Air sensor replacement

Hi All,
This is my first post, so please be gentle. I had the dreaded orange engine warning light come on. The garage pointed it out to be the air flow sensor by the air intake filter. So i have replaced it. Simple, 1 plug and 2 screws later. Cleared the fault code and all seemed well. However, my Mokka which is the 1.7cdti auto now is very lumpy on tick over. Not very helpful in an auto as you can imagine. Once pulled away from stationary it drives fine and the fault light hasn't returned....

fuel pipe sizes

Hi all,
Car is a 2008 Zafira "B" 1.9 cdti 120 bhp,
Can anybody tell me the exact sizes of the diesel plastic feed pipe from fuel tank to filter, and the one from the filter to the high pressure pump,
And the size of the fuel return pipe from the fuel regulator to the fuel tank please,

as I am going to fit non return valve/s in these fuel lines ( one at a time ) to try and fix this fuel syphoning back to the tank,

it seems to be getting worse just lately, I switch on the ignition and have...

hi ,im having a bit of a nightmare with my work van which has been brilliant ,the ignition barrel failed a few weeks ago so as you can imagine me being a builder /plasterer i took to it with a hammer and chisel...yes i know bad move ,anyway i tried to hotwire it thinking i was being clever ,got it turning over but light flashing and wouldnt start ,gave up...towed the old girl home went to breakers bought ignition with key and black cap put all back together (y) key in oh yes i did swap the...

Possible turbo boost valve?

Hi guys.
My 2016 2.0ltr 170hp has started being very loud at 1k revs. At high speeds it's nice and quiet. Also a very faint high pitched noise from the engine bay when idling and u stand outside.
Recently only twice done this, when slowing down gets louder until revs drop just below 1k.
A few Google searches is pointing me to the boost valve. What you guys recommend?
Also tried looking for it as videos I've watched shows it bolted to the front by the bonnet release latch but I dont see it....

Possible turbo boost valve?

Another Bolt Question Throttle Body

Not entirely sure its called the throttle body but on the 1.9 cdti 120 its the bit that the egr pipe goes into, has 3 bolts on it and like a butterfly inside.

Anyway one of the bolts the hex has rounded off so I cannot undo it. I will get it off with pliers or something but I won't be able to put it back on.

Does anyone know the correct bolts I need to replace? Size etc? And possibly where you would buy such a thing?

EGR Delete Question

Hello,

A friend of mine has the 1.9CDTi Zafira B. The EGR is causing all sorts of issues. They don't want to go down the full blank route and have to get the ECU reprogrammed.

I noticed online people sell the blanking plate with a small hole in so the engine management light shouldn't come on.

Has anyone had any luck with these? Do they work? And was it as effective as blocking off the EGR? Also did the EML stay off?

Hi guys don't know if this has been covered got aftermarket fog lights but they kept flickering cause off canbus system so put originall fogs back on got theese wired up to sidelights still flicker any way stop this happing driving me nuts tried them resistors still flicker
