Dometic CRX50 problem

I have a Dometic CRX50 Fridge which is probably about 18 months old.

It is in my Vivaro. To be honest, it’s been hardly used, probably no more than 10 days all told. And

It has been working perfectly until now. 12v Only.

I am running with a large new leisure battery with a split charge

However the fridge now runs for a short time before the compressor stops and the red light and the orange light comes on. There is no flashing light.

If I switch it off for a minute and then back in...

Hi all,

I've been carrying out plenty of work on my 2005 Meriva 1.4, and it's almost ready to send for its MOT but the dreaded check engine light has come on! Along with that is the amber car with the spanner symbol inside. I've used a code reader and its giving out the signals P0340 - cam shaft position sensor, and also p0141 is coming up twice. I've ordered a new o2 sensor and will replace this once it arrives. I collected a new camshaft sensor yesterday and installed but the fault code...

We're about to start converting our van so I will try and document it as we go along.
Today we visited Titanbeds and placed an order for a three seater rock and roll 1300mm wide bed. They placed one in the van so we could mark where the fixing would be.
We will be fitting the insulated floor with battening under where the bed fixing will go before they fit it.
The existing flooring is the hard wearing type as used in horseboxes, etc and is in good enough condition to be re-used so will be...

Vivaro injector fault

Hi not been on for a while as my 08 traffic was faultless. Friday I picked up from a private sale a nov 2012 62 plate Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0CDTi VAN 115ps. I thought I had a good deal as I got him down too £1800 from £3495. On my way home I get the stop light , eml and injection fault. got home and borrowed a code reader. got the codes po299 and p242f and p0299. have I bought myself a pup or is it a fairly straight forward fix. any advice would be Gratefully received.

I’m looking to replace the PCV on my astra mk5 1.4l 16v and i’m not entirely sure where it is? I just had a bellow of blue smoke come out of the back of my car shortly but it’s stopped. Also I’ve recently replaced a blown oil breather tube which probably means that there might be a buildup of pressure. Theres a very small amount of sludge at the backside of the cable but there doesn’t appear to be any more sludge when looking through the oil cap. Any recommendations for maybe clearing this?...

CD30 to CD30 MP3 swap - lost steering controls

Hi

I've just replaced my CD30 with a CD30 MP3 (with the aux pins present). Swapped complete with a paired TID display. Everything plugs in, fits and works fine except...
  1. the steering controls no longer do anything, and
  2. the unit won't turn off/on with the ignition (even when set in Settings).
It's like the unit doesn't speak to the car at all.

The CD30 MP3 is from a Corsa D. I thought a straight swap would work fine (with no Tech2 work) as long as the unit and...

Hello from a newbie.i am looking at buying a 2015 swb vivaro sportive crew cab,this will be used as my daily driver for the family.can anyone please tell me if the rear seats fold as I would like to make a camper but keep the seats in the van.also is the rear bulkhead straightforward enough to remove.thanks for the help.Rich

Hello all, my first post on this forum.

I am changing the oil pressure switch on my 2006 Astra H 1.4 16v and seem to have a problem with which part to use. The faulty switch i have removed is a blue FAE 12439 but the one i have purchased from Eurocarparts to replace it is a black ERA 330366. Both of them fit but are visibly very different at the tip of the thread. The guy at Eurocarparts told me they are the same. The black one below is the same as the ERA switch and the blue one is...

Okay its been a while since i've been here- but last time i did i got lots of interst/help.

Im here because im in a very tight corner with our car (2009 2.0 insignia cdti 150 bhp)

My wife took our car for MOT a few days ago and it failed on ABS system speed sensor- which was replaced (along with break pads all around) but the speed sensors still failed so they had to do go to next step- which was the other end of the sensor wiring (CV joint?) - anyway yesterday they did the work and all...

Oil seeping from valve cover gasket z18xer

The valve cover gasket is weeping oil, particularly on the passenger side of the car. I was wondering if the root could be a failing PCV membrane (z18xer engine does not have traditional PCV valve and is similar to those of US Chevy Cruze & Sonic).

RECOMMENDED REPAIR?
--Gasket only
--Gasket and PCV membrane
--Valve cover & gasket

Options:
- Gasket only ($10 ebay Cheapo, $30 Rockauto, $35 OEM)
- PCV Membrane ($27) [not guaranteed as tabs can break on original valve cover]

Fault code P0400 EGR GAS RECIRCULATION PROBLEMS

'Engine' symbol management light showing on dashboard - OBDII READER fault shows P0400. So far since the summer - had new DPF and new EGR valve at the local garage .... numerous treatments of WYNNS EGR cleaner injected through inlet manifold.... Cleaned MAF and socket with electrical cleaner.......One injector replaced by local garage. Another injector's seal also replaced. Oil and filter changed twice..... New air filter. Turbo has been reconditioned also this...

Could anyone give me some bits of advice on this car please as I just won a 1.2 SXI on ebay with 90k miles that im going to give my son as his first car.
The car is listed as spares or repairs like most do these days to cover themselves but its only listed as having a faulty mech on seats ( 3 door ) and losing water with an occasional damp drivers side footwell.
If the listed faults are simple fixes and nothing bad like a head gasket then I will give it a major service and hope it lasts him...

I have been driving to Germany on a yearly basis since about ten years ago. This year for the first time I had to pay for a silly green card to get comprehensive cover for driving in the EU. They blamed Brexit. That is nonsense, they just want money as they where happy to cover it last year without the green card.:mad:

Had new battery - fully charged. Cleaned egr and all associated passageways. Scanned with Opel diagnostics reader. No codes - only one relating to oil end of life at zero percent. Meriva A 1.3 diesel cranks over but will not fire up. Help please.
