Should I worry about my DPF?

This 1.7 cdti is the first engine that I have that is fitted with a dpf. After almost 600 miles, 60% of which has been short runs, the rest on motorways/ dual carriageways, there has been no indication of the dpf regenerating, the glowplug light has not flashed while driving.
What is the expected frequency of dpf regeneration?
