Ampera or not????

Hi all, currently looking at changing my car and have seen a couple of the Ampera's that have caught my eye, I can do a lot of miles though(so long journeys) will this car suit this kind of travelling? Have overnight stays so might not be able to charge the car during the week, so would be running purely of the petrol????
